About the Artist:
Deborah Pierce Bonnell has had numerous exhibits of her landscapes and abstractions from nature, and has works in many private collections. She has exhibited in Connecticut, as well as in Houston, Texas, New Hampshire, and Brooklyn, New York. She paints in oil on canvas, encaustic on panel, pastel, watercolor and printmaking.

Focusing on her delight in the natural world, her work is concerned with light, space and visual order, be it in traditional landscape format, or more abstracted views of nature’s forms. Deborah has studios in Norwalk CT, and Sarasota, FL, and finds inspiration in the landscape of New England, and in the equally beautiful landscape of the Florida Gulf Coast, especially its marshes, plants, and trees.

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, her career has encompassed graphic design, textile design, and teaching. Since 1995 she has focused on fine art, painting in her studios in Connecticut and Florida, with multiple residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, as well as printmaking at Ten Grand Press, in Brooklyn, NY and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk, CT. She also studied encaustics at R&F Pigments in Kingston, NY, and painting under Yuan Zso, in Bennington, VT.
