Rookery Birds

Sarasota Audubon Society
Kathryn Young, board member of Sarasota Audubon Society, will give you all the fun facts about Bird Rookeries here in Florida. A rookery is a place where wading birds such as egrets, herons, spoonbills and storks go to find a mate, build nests, incubate eggs and bring up their young. The presentation uses professional photographs from local birders.

Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast Can Come to You
Through unique displays and stunning presentations, we can bring the breathtaking vistas of our protected habitats to your neighborhood, nonprofit organization, law firm or school. The Foundation’s outreach efforts have provided many local clubs and organizations with an insight into land conservation.
The Foundation has also presented Florida Tax Assesors with an overview of land conservation benefits and the impact of amendment 4 on property valuations and co-sponsored a Continuing Legal Education class on tax implications of donations of conservation easements.
If you are a teacher interested in bringing your science curriculum to life, consider a field trip on natural lands. Contact us to learn about ways we can support your efforts to promote the protection of bays, beaches and barrier islands.
