Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast has grown through the generosity of people like you. People who donate or volunteer and help the Foundation protect our bays, beaches and barrier islands for future generations. There are many ways to help a growing land trust. If you can, consider a gift of land or a gift of a conservation easement.
All of the Preserves have small endowments to maintain them in perpetuity but support from planned gifts and donations help tremendously. That is a gift theat never ends.
Naming opportunities are still available for several structures, programs and endowments.
The Foundation holds several special events every year and always needs good volunteers with ideas and energy. The Palm Ball was named "Most Beautiful Event" by Sarasota Magazine and the Fall Family Festival is a whirlwind of games, environmental activities, food, music and fun.
Educational programs are held on an ongoing basis in multiple locations and we welcome your participation. Recent programs included:
- Turtle Talks on Siesta Key
- Kayaking in Jim Neville Marine Preserve
- Star Gazing at Bay Preserve at Osprey
- Walking the Kilbourne Nature Trail with environmental educator, Bud Doyle
- Biology in the Bay with biologist Chuck Idelberger
The Foundation is always adding educational opportunities and outdoor activities for our members and friends. Please visit upcoming events to learn more.
Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast Can Come to You
Through unique displays and stunning presentations, we can bring the breathtaking vistas of our protected habitats to your neighborhood, nonprofit organization, law firm or school. The Foundation’s outreach efforts have provided many local clubs and organizations with an insight into land conservation.
The Foundation has also presented Florida Tax Assesors with an overview of land conservation benefits and the impact of amendment 4 on property valuations and co-sponsored a Continuing Legal Education class on tax implications of donations of conservation easements.
If you are a teacher interested in bringing your science curriculum to life, consider a field trip on natural lands.
