Artist In Residence Application
Residency Periods
Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast offers three lengths of residencies. They begin on the first or 16th of the month and end on the 15th or last day of the month.
- Semester or "season" residencies from September through December and January-May for visiting directors, choreographers, composers, performers working with local arts organizations and visiting faculty who are also working artists.
- Summer residencies of 4 weeks from May through August open to Florida artists only
- Artist Residencies of 4-6 weeks from August-May

Application
Each completed application must include:
- completed application form
- $25 nonrefundable application fee
resume (summary of professional activities and achievements, education, awards, exhibits, teaching, honors and other pertinent information)- One page (can be two-sided if needed) artist statement/proposal. Discuss concept and direction of work presented, what you hope to work on and why Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coasts residency is important to your project. The last 2 to 4 sentences should explain what you plan to work on at Bay Preserve.

- two letters of reference from qualified individuals familiar with your work
- and a stamped self-addressed envelope for notification.
The $25 application fee may be submitted online via PayPal, by check to Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast, PO Box 902, Osprey, FL 34229 or by phone with a credit card with Robin Roberts. Robin is available at 941.918.2100 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Eligibility
Our program is open to working adult artists from anywhere in the world whose creative product is inspired by the environment. The residency is intended for artists to develop new work. Applicants should be enthusiastic about interacting with the public. Artists may use the artist quarters, performance pavilion, grand lawn, reception area and spaces of the Outdoor Education Center as working studio space. Artists are encouraged but not required to interact with visitors they encounter on the Preserve.
Deadlines, Selection and Notification
Criteria have been established by a board of advisors comprised of professionals in the visual, literary and performing arts as well as educators, collectors and patrons of the arts.
The first open call for applicants begins January 1, 2012 for the Summer 2012 and Fall 2013 sessions. Applicants will be notified April 16, 2012.

Grant Launches Artist in Residence Program in Osprey
Gulf Coast Community Foundation awarded a grant of $64,788 to launch an Artist in Residence Program at Bay Preserve in Osprey, Florida. The program welcomes career visual, literary and performing artists whose work is inspired by the environment.
